Try Something New: Shirt On Dress

Hi everyone,

Happy Sunday! Hope you all are having a great weekend. :)

After a gloomy and rainy week, sun has finally come out again in the city.

This Jarlo Lace Dress has been sitting in my closet for a while since I bought it. I just didn't the best way to style or pair it, as wearing it alone just feels a little bit too girly for me, and pairing it with a leather jacket doesn't feel too right either. However, recently, the second I saw this very unique floral shirt in Club Monaco, the image of these two pieces together just came to my mind instantly. :)

Thank you all so much for reading!

Black and White Mood

Hi everyone,

Happy Wednesday! Hope you are having a very nice week. :)

Mr. S and I went for a bike ride after work yesterday and we got to explore the city even more. We discovered a perfect spot for a weekend getaway or a brunch picnic. We could see the city skyline and the trees around it from a perfect distance. Sometimes it's good to step out of the chaos and intensity in order to have a quite and rational mindset.

Having this blog is not only giving me a chance to share my fashion diary and thoughts with you, allowing me to think outside of box to play with pairing and matching, but most importantly, it's a perfect opportunity for us to get to know more about this new city, like some corners we would have never seen, some streets we might have just passed by, or some spots we could never have discovered.

Thank you for being on this journey with me. :)

Although the fact that Black-and-white is in trend this season is no longer a secret, this colour combo has always been the most classy choice to me. You can easily dress it down or up, dress it girly or boyish, dress it lady-like or sporty. I got both of the black dipped hem dress and lace collar white blouse from a very unique store in Edmonton.I am very sad that they don't have a store in Calgary...:(

I made this lace "belt" myself...not really actually. I just got a rope of lace from a vintage mall, measure my waistline, and then cut it. Pretty simple right? HAHA

Dress For the Stage

Hi everyone,

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend. If you live in Canada, you weekend properly hasn't over yet. Happy Victoria Day. :)

I was very honoured to be the host for the First North America Guzheng competition Award Gala.

When I told Mr.S and my friends about this opportunity, the first thing they asked was: "Guzheng? What is that?" So I think it's my responsibility to explain it a bit :)

Guzheng is an ancient Chinese instrument which has a very long history and is considered as the national treasure of China.

In order to dress properly for the gala and to embrace the Spring feel, I picked up a glamourous pink dress and paired it with a three-tone killer pumps for the night. :)

I very very much appreciate the opportunity that the organization has given me and truely glad to see some amazing performers showcasing this traditional Chinese culture.

Rainy Day

Hi everyone,

Happy Friday!! How did your week go? My week has been running by super fast and I can't even believe it's Friday already....I guess this should be the sign of a best week ever? :)

I thought since Spring has officially arrived in Calgary, I could actually put my knee boots, leather jacket, and faux fur vest into my suitcase to let them sleep through the warm weather. But the weather in Calgary this week has been a little bit moody, so I feel that putting my favourite faux fur vest on can not only give this look a finished touch, but also can keep me warm from the raining and chilly weather.

If you are wondering why I am pressing my head with my hand, it's because it was raining, so I was trying to use my hand to protect my hair from being ruined by the rain...Sorry for being a bit awkward here HAHA

Thank you so much for reading. Hope you all will have a wonderful weekend. :)

Spring Adventure, Casual Denim

Hi everyone,

Happy Mother's Day! Every mom is wonderful and deserves something special. Whether you are planning to give your mom a pleasant gift, or taking her out for a special dinner, or just giving her a nice phone call, hope you will have an incredible time with each other.:)

Mr.S and I went for a very nice bike ride around the city. We not only got good exercise, but also got a chance to explore the city. Calgary is truly a beautiful place and completely built for the Spring and Summer. There are many bike trails along the river, and by biking, we got to see the amazing city skyline, got to enjoy the nice and quite roads, and most incredibly, got to do something adventurous.

While biking, we discovered this small shore along the river, we got attracted immediately and decided to do our next photo shoot there. It felt like a vacation. :)

Girl on Fire: Red Feather and Black Peplum

Hi everyone,

Happy Friday!

Some people have told me feather pieces are meant for the Winter since they create a heavy and cozy feel. But I decide to take a risk and try it for the first time for Spring. :)

I am very into the colour and flowy feel of this feather skirt. It was originally from Zara and I got it for a very reasonable price on E-bay.  I have always been a big fan of peplum as the shape and design is just so feminine and classic.

In this outfit, I have put two of my favourite colour combos together: Black & Gold, and Black & Red. This glamour look is good for a special occasion, like your birthday party, or a special anniversary celebration with your significant other. :)
